Calgary Stampede will start with fireworks in three other Alberta cities

Fireworks will be lighting the sky in other Alberta cities on Friday to kick off the Calgary Stampede.
Stampede president Steve McDonough says that for the first time in the event’s history, people outside of Calgary will also be able to watch an amazing fireworks show.
Identical pyrotechnic displays will take place in Edmonton, Lethbridge and Red Deer.
The Stampede runs until July 18.
