REGINA – Saskatchewan is dropping the age at which people can receive the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to 40 from 55.
The government’s move follow’s similar decisions in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba and British Columbia while Quebec has dropped its age to 45.
The province says it has about 15,000 doses of AstraZeneca, but less than 9,000 doses are available.
Premier Scott Moe says later this month remaining first responders and front-line workers will be prioritized for the jab – including police, firefighters, correctional staff and teachers.
