WestJet still intends to restore Medicine Hat flights this summer

Mar 25, 2021 | 10:35 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – WestJet is still planning to restore its Medicine Hat-Calgary route in late June.

The company announced in February that Medicine Hat flights would be suspended from March 21 to June 24.

The airline’s plan is still for flights to return in late June.

At the time, WestJet president and CEO Ed Sims said the ability to return to markets like Medicine Hat, is in direct correlation to government policies and prioritization of a domestic travel program.

WestJet suspended service to Lloydminister, London, Ont. and St. John’s, Nfld. at the same time.

This week routes were reinstated in Atlantic Canada and Quebec.

The services restored this week to Charlottetown, Fredericton, Moncton, Sydney, N.S., and Quebec City were cancelled in November.
