Local charter options available following WestJet’s temporary suspension

Feb 19, 2021 | 11:33 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – With the temporary suspension of Medicine Hat WestJet flights starting next month, there are other options to get to Calgary, Alberta, or Canada without driving.

Owner of Super T Aviation Terri Super says they offer charter flights across Canada.

Located at the Medicine Hat Regional Airport, they have flown a few charters where people didn’t want to travel on a large aircraft with a bunch of passengers at this time.

Super says they don’t do a lot of charters as they are mainly a flight school.

She hopes things will start to turn around with the vaccine becoming available.

“The government is doing I guess what they feel is necessary. It is definitely hurting the airline industry, it trickles down and affects the school because the students see there are fewer opportunities for jobs. So the industry is taking a real hard hit and hopefully, things will turn around in the very near future.”

On the ground, Prairie Sprinter shuttle service is another option to get to Calgary or anywhere in Alberta.

They are locally owned and operated in Medicine Hat and offer twice-daily departures 7 days a week to Calgary.
