Hatter wins $100,000 on Extra draw

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Waiting two months to check her lottery ticket made for an extra merry Christmas for a Medicine Hat woman.

Gail Marie Berg won $100,000 on the Oct. 16 Lotto Max and Extra draw, a win she didn’t know about for several weeks.

When she did check her ticket just before Christmas, she didn’t believe it at first.

“After I checked my ticket I walked out to my car and sat there for a while,” she says in a release from the Western Canada Lottery Corporation. “I was shocked – in complete disbelief.”

Berg has new winter tires for her car and a central vacuum for her house in mind to start spending her wnidfall.

The winning ticket was bought at the Mobil gas bar on Carry Drive and Berg found out she was a winner weeks later at another local gas station.

She matched the last six digits of the winning Extra number – 3021880
