Rock-ing guest speaker for area archaeological group

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The local archaeological group will have a virtual guest speaker this week.

The South Eastern Alberta Archaeological Society will host Jack Brink on Jan. 20 at 8 p.m.

He will present “A Rock Art Tour of Alberta.”

Before his retirement Brink was curator of archaeology at the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton and was recently appointed to the order of Canada for his heritage work with Indigenous people.

Brink is well known for his book Imagining Head-Smashed-In and has worked on rock art sites in the province.

Everyone is welcome to the virtual talk but must register in advance by calling R.B. Shepard at 403-527-5440 or by email at shepardb@telus.net.

The group will hold its regular business at 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by the speaker.
