Revera Living confirms five deaths at Meadowlands Retirement Residence since outbreak

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Since Alberta Health Services declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at Meadlowands Retirement Residence on December 19, 2020, Revera Living says 19 residents and three staff tested positive for the virus.

Dr. Rhonda Collins, Chief Medical Officer of Revera confirmed in a press release statement issued Jan. 16, 2021.

Officials say seven residents and one staff member have recovered.

Sadly, five residents from Meadowlands passed away with COVID-19 during the outbreak.

Revera Living continues to work closely with AHS and is following pandemic outbreak protocols.

Residents are isolated in their rooms and monitored for symptoms twice daily.

All staff are screened at the beginning and end of their shifts and are required to wear personal protective equipment.

Residents and their families have been informed of the outbreak and visits have been cancelled during the outbreak, except for essential visitors.

The team at Meadowlands offers its most sincere condolences to the families and friends of the residents who passed away during the pandemic.
