Saskatchewan has country’s highest rate of active COVID-19 cases

Jan 15, 2021 | 7:16 AM

The C-E-O of the Saskatchewan Health Authority says the province’s health-care system is at its most fragile point yet during the pandemic as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to climb.

Scott Livingstone says the system is being pushed to the absolute limit.

The Public Health Agency of Canada says Saskatchewan, which recorded another 312 infections yesterday, has the country’s highest rate of active cases.

The province’s chief medical health officer says he will recommend the government introduce stricter public health measures if he keeps seeing 300 or more new infections daily.
