MEDICINE HAT, AB – Damage assessment and clean-up continues for the city Friday following the wind storm that whipped through Medicine Hat on Wednesday.

Residents are encouraged to report any concerns regarding a city tree or large fallen debris through the Report a Problem page online.

The city reminds residents damage or debris from privately owned trees, clean-up or removal is the responsibility of the property owner.

If debris is from an elm tree, it must be taken to the city landfill for proper disposal. You can refer to the Tree Preservation Bylaw #4218 for more information.

Residents are urged to exercise caution when utilizing city parks and trail systems as potential hazards may not have yet been assessed by Parks and Recreation staff.

Clean-up efforts are expected to be completed by Jan. 22, pending further findings from ongoing assessments.
