MEDICINE HAT, AB- A local business is providing young creative entrepreneurs a space to feauture their products.

Over at Top Notch Custom Kreations on 3rd street, shelves are dedicated for young budding entrepreneurs under the age of 16.

Seven-year-old Niko Goring of @nyxandneeks is one of the young entrepreneurs featured.

“I make hoodies, beanies, stickers, pens, that are right now coming, and we need more hoodies because already five people want more,” he said.

Niko has been making products for three years and is known for his signature dino character that is featured on many of his items.

“They are cute and I thought they looked cute, but because of COVID-19 I couldn’t go door-to-door so my dad started posting them online,” he said.

Niko’s products have shipped as far away as Hong Kong and Australia, and he has seen quite the success, at just seven years old.

“All of our hoodies have sold out, and we are probably going to get a few more,”he said.

Another entrepreneur featured is six-year-old Nevaeh Deveau who makes necklaces as part of her business, Tiny Crafter.

“I like making them, they are fun,” she said.

The six-year-old makes the necklaces with resin and adds in stickers and sprinkles.

“You pour them into the molds, then you let it sit for 12 hours, and then you sand them, and then you put the necklace part on,” she said.

The six-year-old is also looking to expand her line to include dice, using a similar process.

Her grandmother Shannon Deveau, who owns Top Notch Custom Creations was the mastermind behind the shelf for young entrepreneurs. She started the shelf to give kids a platform to showcase their creativity during COVID-19.

“I thought it would be a good way to display their artwork, keep them busy, give them something to do, something to look forward to, during this crazy time,” she said.

Currently, eight entrepreneurs are featured at the store but she is looking to expand to 12
young entrepreneurs.

Kids who are interested are asked to bring their products into the store and speak to Shannon.
