COVID-19 update: 31 deaths confirmed province-wide and 989 new cases

EDMONTON, AB- The province confirmed 31 new COVID-19 related deaths on Saturday. In total 1,272 people have died province-wide since the start of the pandemic.

The province also confirmed 989 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday bringing the total number of active cases to 14,437. A total of 94,932 cases have recovered.

The provincial positivity rate is 7.1 per cent. 13,540 tests have been completed over the last 24 hours, according to the province’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw.

There are 41 active cases of the virus in Medicine Hat, up from three on Friday and 441 recoveries. Nine people have died from COVID-19 in the city.

In Cypress County, there are six active cases, 139 recoveries and zero deaths.

In the city of Brooks, there are 16 active cases 1327 recoveries and 14 deaths.

In the Municipal District of Taber there are 10 active cases, 301 recoveries and six deaths.

In Lethbridge County , there are 37 active cases, 415 recoveries and seven deaths.

The City of Lethbridge has 100 active cases, 1380 recoveries, and ten recorded deaths.
