Peaceful march for beauty professionals planned for Friday afternoon

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A peaceful march for all beauty professionals is being planned today in Medicine Hat.

The march is to bring the beauty and spa industry back to work in Alberta.

The march begins Friday, January 8 at 4:30 starting at Riverside Veterans’ Memorial Park.

Organizers say they will march and make noise as they walk down Kingsway AVE to the intersection beside Saamis funeral home and back.

Public health guidelines will be followed during the march.

A post on the Facebook event states:

Absolutely no foul language but lots of noise and signs recommended. We need to share our voices that it is not ok that we are the ONLY industry forced closed for 4 months in less than a year. It is very important that everyone wears masks and keep a 10-foot space between each other in the park and on the march. We want to be heard not arrested. Please share with anyone in the industry. Short notice I know but we need to be heard while we are still in this situation and demand our rights. MASKS. SPACING. LOUD VOICES. NO ABUSIVE LANGUAGE OR ACTIONS.
