VIDEO: Mayor Ted Clugston looks back on difficult year, says mask debate will ‘haunt’ him

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Mayor Ted Clugston sat down with CHAT News for a year-end chat this week.

The mayor talked about the difficult decisions council made this year, including the budget which he says saw the largest cuts in the history of the city.

The face-covering bylaw also stood out to him.

“The mask debate was probably one of the most contentious issues that I faced in 13 years on council,” Clugston said. “And I think most of the council members would say that.”

“That one will haunt me for a while,” he added.

Clugston also looks ahead to 2021 with upcoming projects planned for the new year.
