Approximately 1,200 new COVID-19 cases in the province

Taking a break from detailed updates until next week, Dr. Deena Hinshaw provided a preliminary COVID-19 update via Twitter on Thursday morning.

On Dec. 30, there was an estimated:

• 1,200 cases
• 16,900 laboratory tests
• 7 per cent positivity rate
• hospitalizations are increasing
• ICU rates are stable

Another preliminary update will be shared on Jan. 1.

Hinshaw will provide an in-person update on Jan. 5.
