2021 New Year’s babies won’t be announced, says AHS

New Year’s babies in Alberta in 2021 won’t come into the world with the same fanfare as in the past.

Alberta Health Services announced New Year’s babies will not be identified this year.

“Given the current restrictions in place at our healthcare facilities and ongoing health system challenges brought on by COVID-19, Alberta Health Services and Covenant Health will not be identifying or announcing this year’s New Year’s babies,” reads a statement.

AHS says it hopes to resume the announcements in 2022.
