Both leaders point to Moe’s record, but for different reasons

Oct 23, 2020 | 4:14 PM

SASKATOON – Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe has told an outdoor car rally in Saskatoon that he’s proud to run on the party’s legacy of standing up for people.

He says the Saskatchewan Party stood against the federal government and the carbon tax and pushed for pipelines.

He says his party also built hospitals, highways and hired teachers while in power.

Moe says it’s been a very different campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but he is optimistic the Saskatchewan Party will do well at the polls.

In Regina, New Democrat Leader Ryan Meili also pointed to his opponent’s track record.

Meili says people can’t trust Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe to make the right investments as the province grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic.

He says the Saskatchewan Party has a history of laying off health-care workers.

Meili highlights his party’s plan to fix understaffing in health care and shrink classroom sizes, among other promises.

Tomorrow is the last day advanced polls are open in Saskatchewan.
