Third day added

Quonset Days announces 2021 lineup

Oct 14, 2020 | 10:07 AM

Quonset Days will be back bigger than before in 2021.

The lineup for the annual “Greatest Outdoor Party on Dirt” was announced this morning and includes a third day of music, fun and fundraising.

The lineup is headlined by Jason McCoy on July 22, The Reklaws and Medicine Hat’s MacKenzie Porter on July 23 and Corb Lund and Steven Lee Olsen on July 24.

Quonset Days has partnered with HALO Air Ambulance on the added night, which also includes local duo Taking August.

“We’ve always made a donation in the past to HALO and in speaking with them we saw an opportunity to partner up this year and add the third day as a way of boosting our fundraising on both fronts for them and ourselves,” said general manager Trevor Biemans.

He adds the third day is another reason for everyone to get a little more excited since the music festival calendar has been bare in recent months and might be for a while longer.

“Normally we would just nicely be recovered and starting to look forward to next year at this point in time and so to be organized and ready to go for what’s basically been a postponement from this year is kind of exciting for us and of course for everyone else,” said Biemans. “The response in general has been very positive and I think everybody is ready to see live entertainment again while also raising money for good causes.”

Biemans adds most of the artists booked for 2020 are back for 2021.

Other acts on the bill include The Chevelles on July 23, and Phoenix and The Reese Klaiber Band on July 24.

“We did move a few things around, we added some artists, we got another local artist coming so it’s a nice mix and I think everybody is really going to enjoy what the committee and I have put together,” said Biemans.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. at quonsetdays.com and will cost anywhere from $150 for the full thtree days to $50 for Thursday’s show. Camping goes on sale Friday as well and a shuttle will again run from the city to the Biemans’ farm for anyone who doesn’t want to spend the night.

This year’s Quonset Days was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Quonset Days was created as a tribute to Peter Biemans, father of Trevor Biemans, who passed away in 2009 from ALS. In addition to the music, the event features food vendors, a live and silent auction and pedal tractor races, all held on the Biemans’ farm near Seven Persons.
