City Hall to provide update on COVID-19 response
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat’s mayor, emergency director and chief administrator will be providing an update to the city’s response to COVID-19 mid-day Friday.
The city’s emergency manager Merrick Brown told CHAT News on Thursday that Medicine Hat is well prepared to deal with emergent situations within the municipality.
The province’s chief medical officer of heath has banned public gatherings of more than 250 people in response to the COVID-19 outbreak on Thursday afternoon.
Calgary and Red Deer activated their emergency operation centres in the past 24-hours in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Edmonton is holding an emergency meeting this morning to discuss the possibility of activating that city’s EOC.
