SOUTHERN ALBERTA — A system expected to move into southern Alberta later today could bring as much as 40 cm of snow to some areas in the mountains and foothills of southwestern Alberta.
Environment Canada says the system will reduce visibility in blowing snow and is expected to last through Saturday for some areas.
Areas like Okotoks and Canmore are under a winter storm warning; the rest of southern Alberta is under a winter storm watch.
But Environment Canada says warnings may expand later today to cover those regions currently under a watch, as development of the storm system becomes more clear.
