Snowfall warning in effect for parts of southern Alberta

OYEN, AB- If you have any weekend road trip plans you may want to take extra precautions.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for parts of southern Alberta.

An estimated 10 to 20 centimeters of snow is expected in parts of the province.

“The heaviest swath of snow is expected from Forestburg to Cold Lake. The City of Edmonton could see between 10-15 centimetres total, especially eastern portions of the city. The snow will taper off Sunday morning as the system moves into Saskatchewan,” Environement Canada said.

The communities of Hanna, Coronation, and Oyen, as well as Brooks , Strathmore, and Vulcan, are included in the snowfall warning.
