Kindersley schools remain in hold-and-secure mode as RCMP investigate shooting

KINDERSLEY, SASK. — All schools in Kindersley, Saskatchewan remain under a hold and secure after a firearm was discharged in a residence near the hospital Thursday morning.
According to a release from the RCMP, the call came shortly after 10 a.m., concerning a firearm discharge at a home on First Street West.
One person fled the home and called police.
Officers have set up a perimeter in the area of Highway 21 to the north, Highway 7 to the west, south to the Kindersley Hospital, and east to Main Street. Investigators are working to determine who discharged the firearm, secure the residence and determine if there are any other individuals in the residence.
