Snow on top of ice not a good mix for travel

MEDICINE HAT — Travel in and out of Medicine Hat this morning is slower than normal, thanks to a mix of ice and snow that caused multiple accidents yesterday afternoon.

10 reports were filed with city police between 2:30 and 6 o’clock yesterday, including one where a truck and travel trailer went off the Trans Canada highway at Box Springs road.

RCMP were telling motorists not to travel between Brooks and Bassano after several vehicles hit the ditch by mid-afternoon.

Snow plows and sanding trucks are working to do what they can to make it safer this morning.
