Border hours changing at two crossings in Alberta

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Canada Border Services Agency says one border crossing will be closing for the season next week, while another will be returning to its regular hours.

The Chief Mountain border crossing, which is located on Highway 6 in the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, will close for the season at 6 p.m. on Monday. The crossing is only open during the summer travelling season. It will open for the summer season next year on May 15.

The Wild Horse border crossing, which is located south of Medicine Hat on Highway 41, will return to its regular hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. starting on Monday. During the summer, Wild Horse is open between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

According to the CBSA, the Chief Mountain crossing saw approximately 59,000 travellers in 22,000 vehicles cross between May and August.
