MEDICINE HAT, AB – Jordan Hollett’s tenure with the Medicine Hat Tigers has come to a close, electing to end his WHL career.

In a release by the Tigers on Tuesday, they confirmed the 20-year-old Hollett has chosen to pursue his academics and will not be reporting to Tigers training camp this fall.

Hollett served as a pillar of Medicine Hat’s crease over two seasons after being acquired from the Regina Pats, posting a 30-32-6 record in 72 games for the Tigers.

The Langley, British Columbia netminder was brought into the fold from the Pats in May of 2017 in exchange for forward Matt Bradley, a 2018 second round pick, and a 2019 fifth round selection.

A former sixth round pick of the Ottawa Senators, Hollett also posted a 3.46 goals against average, a 0.895 save percentage, and one shutout in his two seasons in a Tigers uniform.

Hollett’s departure leaves two goaltenders on Medicine Hat’s roster, with Mads Søgaard set to return as starter and prospect Garin Bjorklund the odds on favourite to step into a backup role with the team.

Four players remain fighting for three overage spots on the Tigers roster including forwards James Hamblin, Tyler Preziuso, Hayden Ostir, and Logan Christensen.
