Stampede releases 2019 attendance numbers

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede saw a decrease in year over year attendance for portions of this year’s event, according to numbers released by the organization on Tuesday.

According to the Stampede, paid gate attendance to this year’s Stampede was 42,729, down from 45,906 the year before. The Stampede’s numbers also included 2017, which saw 44,702 come through the gates that year.

The summer pro rodeo attendance numbers held steady this year. The Stampede reports 6,319 people attended the rodeo over the three days it was held, slightly down from 6,390 last year. The 2017 Stampede had 6,358 people attend over three days.

The night show concerts, which included performances from Brett Kissel, The Hunter Brothers, Blackhawk, Restless Heart and Creedence Clearwater Revisited, saw total paid attendance of 5,646. The 2018 night shows saw 5,827 total paid attendance, while 2017 had 6,250 people.
