MEDICINE HAT, AB — YMCA in Medicine Hat says they’re dealing with the fallout from a cyber incident.

An email sent to staff and obtained by CHAT Television says the incident occurred Monday, and impacted a server at the building.

According to an official statement from the organization, member card entry at the facilities is not currently available, and users have to manually sign in if they want to use the YMCA.

The organization says they are investigating the incident, and do not believe any member information was accessed as a result of the incident.

“There is no reason to believe that data contained on the server, including member information, has been accessed,” the statement reads. “We have informed law enforcement and are working with a team of experts to investigate the incident.”

YMCA says they apologize to members for the inconvenience and are working around the clock to resolve the issue.

The full statement can be read below.
