City under severe thunderstorm warning

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat is officially under a severe thunderstorm warning.
Environment Canada upgraded the watch that was issued earlier Thursday morning to a warning at 12:45 p.m. Meteorologists says the thunderstorm is capable of produCing very strong wind gusts, heavy rain and hail ranging in size from toonies to ping pong balls.
The storm is located 10 kilometres southwest of Medicine Hat and is moving north at 60 kilometres per hour.
Environment Canada are reminding people to be careful while outside and driving, noting heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads and strong wind gusts can toss loose objects and break branches on trees.
