Rattlers hire new soccer coach

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat College Rattlers have officially announced a new coach for the men’s and women’s soccer and futsal teams.

Robert Cavicchia has been hired by the college to coach the teams. He will also be the executive director of the Medicine Hat Soccer Association.

According to a release from the college, Cavicchia comes from Niagara University in New York, where he was an assistant coach at the school. He was also a four-year starter in NCAA Division One soccer at Syracuse University.

He also has experience at the club level, previously serving as academy director, board member and soccer coach for the York Jets Soccer Club in Toronto.

The college announced in March they would be partnering with the Soccer Association to help provide stability for soccer in Medicine Hat.
