Farmer’s Day marked in Medicine Hat

UFA stores across Alberta celebrated Farmer’s Day Friday afternoon. In Medicine Hat, the event included a barbecue and a silent auction to raise money for Halo Air Ambulance.
Farmer’s Day was a provincial holiday in Alberta from 1945 to 1975, which took place on the second Friday in June. The holiday is meant to recognize workers in the agriculture industry and appreciate the people who help put food on the table.
