AMA shredding event on Saturday

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Alberta Motor Association is giving residents a chance to avoid falling victim to identity theft this weekend.

The annual shredding event for AMA members takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. outside the Medicine Hat location.

Those participating are reminded to bring their AMA cards and a donation to the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank.

Members can shred up to six boxes of documents of personal documents and items, including credit card slips, cancelled cheques, bank documents and compact discs.

Electronic hard drives, heavy cardboard, coins and batteries cannot be shredded, according to AMA.
