3 Hatters facing drugs, weapons charges

SWIFT CURRENT, SK — Three Medicine Hat residents are scheduled to appear in a Swift Current courtroom on Monday, after RCMP stopped a vehicle in Herbert, Saskatchewan.

Mounties stopped the vehicle on Friday, checking for a man wanted on warrants by the Swift Current detachment.

The four people inside the vehicle were arrested for various outstanding warrants.

Members searched the vehicle and found cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and a substance thought to be fentanyl.

A prohibited weapon and cash were also seized.

Nicholas Neufeld, 18, of Swift Current has been charged.

The three Medicine Hat residents, Nicolas Belanger, 28, Sherie Knowles-Hicks, 19, and Aleigha Yasin, 20, have also been arrested and charged.

The four are facing 47 charges in total, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and possession of a prohibited weapon.
