The Medicine Hat Tigers kept it in the family with their first pick in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft, selecting Max Osgood, son of former Tigers netminder Chris Osgood, with the 21st overall pick.

Osgood, who hails from Plymouth, MI, USA, played for Little Caesars 14U AAA this past season, posting 15 goals and 43 points over just 20 games.

“He’s very versatile and can play on both sides”, said Tigers Assistant General Manager Bobby Fox regarding the selection.

Max’s father, Chris, had an exceptional NHL career, which included stints with the Detroit Red Wings, New York Islanders, and St. Louis Blues, before concluding his career back with Detroit.
