Brooks Bandits drop game three in Cranbrook, take on Bucks again on Wednesday

May 6, 2026 | 8:59 AM

The Brooks Bandits will be playing two more games in Cranbrook before the BCHL Interior Conference Finals could shift back home to the Centennial Regional Arena.

Game four goes Wednesday night, just a day after the Bandits dropped a 4-1 decision to the Bucks in game three.

The Bandits still hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series and will look to rebound against an opponent they had dominated in the first two games of the series.

Tuesday’s game got off to a rough start for the Bandits just a minute and 49 seconds in. Bandits defenceman Dane Sorensen received a five-minute major for kneeing, a five-minute major for fighting with the Bucks forward Konnor Bissell, and a game misconduct.

The Bucks would capitalize on the power play with forward Adam Csabi scoring a minute and three seconds into the man advantage.

Midway through the second period, the Bucks would strike again on the power play with a goal from forward Kaslo Ferner.

Down 2-0 in the third period, the Bandits would get on the board with a goal from forward Mathis Dufour, assisted by defenceman Tanner Winegard.

That would be as close as the Bandits would get as a pair of empty-net goals in the final minute, from Csabi and forward Samuel Lyne would secure the victory for the Bucks.

Jason Tremblay stopped 40 of 41 shots in the net for the Bucks to earn the win, while Zach Zahara stopped 28 of 30 in the Bandits’ loss.

The Bucks have won all six playoff games played at Western Financial Place over their three rounds.

Bandits forward Jack Good was also named the BCHL’s second star of the week yesterday for the week ending on Sunday, May 3.

Returning after missing eight games due to injury, Good, 20, had six points in three games last week, including a goal and five assists.

Game five in Cranbrook is scheduled for Friday. If necessary, games six and seven in Brooks are set for Monday, May 11, and Tuesday, May 12. All games in the series have a 7 p.m. start.
