‘It’s a huge honour to play for your country’: Sogaard returns from World Juniors
MEDICINE HAT, AB — Mads Sogaard is back in orange and black.
The 18-year-old rookie netminder has rejoined the Medicine Hat Tigers after a three-week stint with Team Denmark at the World Juniors.
Although the 6’7″ netminder was held winless in five starts between the Danes’ pipes, Sogaard says it was an honour to play for his home country and he’s proud of how his team performed.
He’s warmly welcomed into the Tigers fold, although the WHL club faired well without their top netminder. Medicine Hat won five of six games while Sogaard was on the west coast, largely in thanks to the strong play from veteran netminder Jordan Hollett and call-up Garin Bjorklund.
