SAIT students receive Prairie Equity Scholarships
CALGARY, AB — Two students from SAIT Polytechnic were recently awarded two Jim Pattison Broadcast Group Prairie Equity Scholarships.
Alyssa Stoyanowski and Amanda Vocke have each received $2,000 in financial assistance to help them pursue their education and career goals.
Stoyanowski, a first-year student at SAIT, was diagnosed with Severe Auditory Processing Disorder, a hearing problem that interferes with the way the brain recognizes and interprets sounds. The diagnosis has helped Stoyanowski understand her earlier struggles in school. She has maintained good grades, active in student government, helped with charitable causes in her community and was a competitive swimmer, coach and lifeguard, according to a release about her award.
“All of these experiences have, and will continue to benefit me in the future at SAIT, and in any career I choose,” Stoyanowski states in the release.
