Resurgent Quebec economy drawing more attention from U.S. investors
NEW YORK — Quebec’s finance minister smiled widely on a New York City stage as dozens of U.S. investors carefully followed his words — perhaps more closely than they had in recent years.
The province’s strengthening economy was the subject of numerous questions at a conference last week that brought together American investors interested in learning more about Canada’s potential.
Carlos Leitao appeared to take great pleasure in making a sales pitch for his province’s resurgent economy.
“We are doing well, by the way — very well,” the beaming finance minister told the experts who gathered for the event, which was hosted by Bloomberg.
