SD76, Prairie Rose report high enrolment numbers on first day of school
MEDICINE HAT, AB — It’s early so far, but enrolment numbers are already looking good for two local school boards
On Tuesday, SD76 has counted 7,123 students enrolled in traditional classrooms across its schools, up 44 students from its projection in spring.
“The numbers are sort of soft the first few days, and that’s about a half a per cent increase,” said Jerry Labossiere, secretary/treasurer with SD76. “We had budgeted for flat growth or no growth, so it’s a good thing there is modest growth.”
Adding students in its early learning programs, the number enrolled jumps to 7,466.
