INTERVIEW: Batsel goes wire-to-wire to defend Southeastern Open title
MEDICINE HAT, AB — Dillon Batsel looked unbeatable at his home course, successfully defending the Southeastern Open men’s crown at the Connaught Golf Course over the weekend.
The club’s assistant pro was the lone golfer to finish in red figures following three days of competition, posting rounds of 73-71-71 (215) to card 4-under par.
“I didn’t put myself in trouble over the three days,” said Batsel, who shaved six strokes off his winning score from last year. “I was never re-teeing, I was never in a hazard. Ball striking wise I was fairway (to) green for the most part. It was just stress free golf.”
