
1941~ Robert Lloyd Seitz ~2026
Mr. Robert “Bob” Lloyd Seitz went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Mrs. Magdalena Seitz of Medicine Hat, he also leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Hoyt (Shannon) Seitz and their children, Kyle and Louisa of Lethbridge, Anthony (Shauna) Seitz and their children, Brooklyn (Luke Gehlert), Ethan and Gavin of Edmonton; one daughter, Dawn (Wendell) Straub, and their children; Mindy and Kimberley of Hilda, and great-grandson, Miles Seitz-Gehlert; sister, Mrs. Carmen Flaig; brother, Garth (Marilyn) Seitz of Medicine Hat, sisters-in-law; Martha Lutz of Sylvan Lake and Rose (Dick) Wymenga of Leslieville; brother-in-law, Fred (Robin) Lutz of Innisfail, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Seitz; his sister, Mrs. Bernice Flaig; his brothers-in-law, Bill and Jim Flaig; his parents-in-law, John and Caroline Lutz; five sisters-in-law, Elsie Zimmerman, Emma Christman, Alma Robinson, Barbara Lutz, and Lydia Stokes, and five brothers-in-law, Reynie Lutz, Rudy Zimmerman, Philip Christman, Albert Stokes and Elvin Robinson. Bob was born June 25, 1941, in Medicine Hat and was raised on the family farm in the Little Plume district south of Dunmore. He attended Goose Lake School and helped on the farm with ranching and farming. He married Magdalena Lutz on November 27, 1965. They took over the family farm and raised their children to know the value of honest work and the importance of family and faith in Jesus. They attended Little Plume Church faithfully and loved to welcome friends, family and neighbours through the doors with a smile and a handshake or hug. Bob loved Maggie, his family, visiting with neighbours, his cows and horses and the farm. He had a great sense of humour and a way about him to make you feel special, and could make your day with laughter and his encouraging personality. Bob’s hobbies in his spare time were hunting, fishing, drawing, curling and gardening. Bob and Maggie moved to Medicine Hat in 2007 and got used to city life and retirement. They were able to do some travelling and enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren. In September 2020, they moved to Masterpiece Southlands Meadows. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on November 27, 2025. The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses, aides and staff at Masterpiece for the time and loving care they gave to Dad during his residency and palliative care. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, #1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. A private family interment will be held in the Little Plume Cemetery. The Funeral Service will be held at Hillcrest Evangelical Church, 3785 13 Ave SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1B 1J2, on March 20, 2026, at 1:30 pm with Pastor Clare Rattai officiating. .
