Reta Driscoll

Reta Jean Margaret Driscoll, beloved wife of the late William Gershaw Driscoll, passed away at the Good Samaritan South Ridge Village in Medicine Hat on Monday, July 12, 2021, at the age of 86 years. She was born in Medicine Hat and raised and educated in Dunmore. At a young age she worked on the family farm, helping milk cows and tending to all of the animals. When Bill and Reta took on the responsiblity of their own farm in Clearwater, she continued in raising the farm animals. Reta married Bill on July 4, 1953, in Medicine Hat. In their younger years, Bill and Reta loved to travel taking many trips to Waterton, Hawaii and Alaska with friends. They loved to watch and listen to the birds and wildlife everywhere they went. Reta loved gardening and growing flowers, playing Canasta with her dear cousin, Doreen and friend, Debbie for hours. Shopping trips to Havre and seeking out sales anywhere were among Reta’s favourite pastimes. Reta also enjoyed crocheting, music and dancing. In 1981, they retired from the family farm and moved to Medicine Hat. She was a very caring and proud wife, mother and grandmother. Reta loved being there for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s milestone achievements and accomplishments. One of Reta’s greatest achievements was the sewing course she completed at the Medicine Hat College. Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter, Cindy Hogg of Camrose; grandchildren, Amanda Driscoll (TeeJay Egan) and their children, Cooper and Cadence; Shane Driscoll (Lacey Franz); Cassandra Hogg and her daughter, Savannah as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Gordon (Joan) Driscoll of Claresholm; special cousin, Doreen Bartoli of Medicine Hat as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Reta was pre-deceased by her husband, William ‘Bill’ Driscoll; parents, Ester and Alexander Cairney; son, Lee Driscoll; grandson, Kyle Driscoll; siblings, Alan Cairney and Della Cairney.
