Kay Loree Davies passed away on January 21, 2024, in Medicine Hat,
Alberta. Born in New Westminster, BC on December 1, 1946, to Pauline and
Gordon Davies, Kay was an exceptionally gifted student and writer.
Kay finished her post-secondary education at Trinity Western University in
Langley, BC. Her passion for writing led her to fulfilling a desire to be able to write
– and actually get paid for it. Her career included editorial experience at the
Vancouver Sun & Province newspapers, several community papers, as well as
helping to enrich the wording of many printed materials being manufactured in
the printing business run by her parents and brother in White Rock, BC.
Her love of travel led to many wonderful trips all around the world.
Kay’s love of reading and writing lived on through her years in both British Columbia and Alberta. Kay is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her three siblings, Clint (Maria), Ann (Brian Main) and Rob (Caroline); and many nieces and nephews, all of whom were encouraged and benefited by her ongoing gifting of books as well as her love and, when asked for, helpful advice. Predeceased by her parents, Pauline and Gordon.
Kay had a special relationship with her niece, Jodi (Jo). She was like a second mother to Jo and always supported her. They shared the good and the bad of life, but always remained true to the love they had for each other.
