Bruce and his family sadly announce the peaceful passing of Kathleen Lorraine Harty while at the River Ridge Senior’s Village in Medicine Hat on Monday, May 3, 2021, at the age of 71 years. Along with Bruce, Kathleen leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Robert (Melanie), Neal (Lisa) and Daniel; six grandchildren, Jonathan (Jessica), Benjamin, Angelina, Stephanie, Cassidy and Emma; three great-grandchildren, Lucy, Sophia and Grace as well as four siblings, Gwen, Frank, David and Sharon. She was predeceased by her parents, Tony and Olive Pfefferle and John and Verne Leach; a brother, John as well as one grandchild, James. Kathleen was born on May 14, 1949, in Toronto, Ontario. Throughout her life-time, Kathleen lived in many different places before making Medicine Hat her home. She was a farm wife for many years and always worked very hard, especially when it came to picking rocks. Kathleen loved driving the tractor and enjoyed taking the boys with her each opportunity she had. She was the first to sign up for an adventure of any kind, and she especially enjoyed the outdoors and camping. She was dearly loved and will be fondly remembered for her cooking, laughter and the warmth of her smile. Due to COVID – 19 restrictions, the Funeral Celebration will be by invitation only. A Celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Terry Olson officiating.
