Karen Lee Hellman
May 9, 1959 ~ October 15, 2021
Karen Lee Hellman passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice with her family at her side on Friday, October 15, 2021, at the age of 62 years. Left to mourn Karen’s passing is her loving husband, Keith, who opened her world to travelling. They enjoyed over 35 holidays together. Keith and Karen were married for 28 years and he fulfilled her every dream and wish. In addition to her loving husband, Karen also left behind her three daughters who were her pride and joy: Richelle (Monty) Kozma, Jessi (Tyler) Lagasse, and Sarah (Chris) Topping. Karen’s greatest gift was her grandchildren: Kaila (Jesse), Christopher (Aria), Bailey, Taylor, Austin and Titus. Karen is also survived by her Aunt Merle and Uncle Leo Hillariet and her extended family, Bev (Don) Olexson and family, Sharon (Frank) Hintz and family, Reg Hellman and family, Terry Hellman, Daphne Hellman as well as Penny (Warren) Hartfelder and family. She had many friends in her lifetime. Some for a reason, some for a season and some for as long as she can remember. She was blessed with lifetime friends, Lois Jackson, Kathy Minor, Marilyn Walliser, Ronalee Lynn and Diane Unser. Karen was predeceased by her parents, George and Doris Connell; nephew, Adam Elliott; in-laws, Jack and Lillian Hellman. Florian Rollheiser, one of the kindest men she had ever met, and her good friend and neighbour, is sure to be waiting at heaven’s gate, ready to greet her. Karen was a conscientious and caring nurse for 31 years and served her patients with dignity, respect and true compassion. Karen’s talents were many, she was an avid gardener and could often be found tending to her flowers. She also loved crafting and was constantly working on her creations that many of us will treasure for years to come. She loved camping and looked forward to the Hellman camping trip that was sure to be a blast every summer. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions in place, the Chapel Service honouring Karen’s life will be by invitation only.
