John started his career with Alberta Gas Truckline in 1963, and he obtained his millwright certificate while working there. He retired as a supervisor for Nova in 1993, and following retirement, he kept busy by working in a small engine repair shop from his garage. He was known to be the ‘fix it man’ as he could fix anything. He was an avid fisherman who also loved hunting and playing cards with his family and friends. Telling stories of his experiences and making people laugh made John one of a kind. He had a passion for helping others. One of his greatest memories was building a pipeline in Australia.
