Darrin Steigel

It is with an extremely heavy heart that Leeanne announces the sudden passing of her beloved partner in life, Darrin Douglas Steigel. He passed away in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the age of 42 years. Darrin will be forever rememberd in the hearts of Leeanne and their family, Emma, Nathan, Anthony and Lealand; father, Gerald Steigel; his siblings as well as numerous members of Leeanne’s family. He was predeceased by his mother, Carol Mobey. Darrin was born on May 18, 1979, in Victoria, BC. He enjoyed outdoor activities including quadding, camping, golfing, hiking and shooting his rifles at the gun range. When Darrin was at home, you could find him watching movies with his family or tinkering in the garage with his tools or vehicles. Darrin had the gift of gab as he was funny and had the natural ability to talk to people. Friends were drawn to him as he was always willing to help anyone out if they needed a hand. A private Celebration of Darrin’s life was held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 24, 2021, with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating.
