While in the comfort of her home and surrounded by family, Claudette Monique Markusson (nee Cheret) beloved wife of Jeffrey John Markusson and mother to Ben (13), Hannah (11) and Everleigh (9), peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the age of 43 years. Along with Jeff and their children, left to cherish Claudette’s memory is her mother, Nancy Jurgeleit; father, Armand Cheret; brother, JP (Bernadette) Cheret and their children, Wayland and Madison; grandmother, Leona Cheret-Paprocky; Jeff’s parents, Glen (Linda) Markusson; sisters-in-law, Connie Kentz (Craig, Brooke, Bailey) and Paula (Lee) Smith (Jenna, Gavin, Samantha). Claudette was born and raised in Medicine Hat. She graduated from Medicine Hat High School and furthered her education at the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education degree. Claudette married Jeff on August 7, 1999, in Medicine Hat where they settled and raised their family. Claudette loved playing basketball and soccer and excelled in both growing up. She eventually became a very vocal supporter of her kids’ sporting events. Being a mom to her three beloved children brought the most joy to Claudette; they were her pride and joy. She is lovingly remembered by family, friends and all those whose lives she touched by her kindness and caring nature, especially by her infectious laugh. By invitation, the family will celebrate Claudette’s life with a Private Funeral Service at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 25, 2020, with Pastor Mike Landry officiating.
