CALGARY, AB – For the first time in five years, local football stars and Team South walked off the field with a loss at the 30th edition of the Football Alberta Senior Bowl.

Team South was unable to capture a fifth consecutive Senior Bowl title on Monday, dropping a 23-14 decision to Team North at Shouldice Athletic Park in Calgary.

Eight local players dotted the Team South roster including Medicine Hat High Mohawks Lachlan Hardiker, Connor Taylor, Justin Maser, Tanner Winter, and Josh Howe.

Hardiker, Taylor, Maser, and Howe will now all move on from the Mohawks program to join the University of Regina Rams as freshmen in the fall.

Mohawks head coach Quinn Skelton was also on the sidelines as an assistant coach for Monday’s loss.

Team South featured a pair of Brooks High Buffalos in Dodjang (Ngor) Lual and Tyler Turner as well, along with Crescent Heights Vikings receiver Kaden Wagner.

Complete stats from Monday’s Senior Bowl were not available at the time of publication.
