CALGARY, AB — Charges have officially been laid against a 35-year-old man in connection with the deaths of a Calgary woman and her daughter.

Robert Leeming, 34, appeared in a Calgary court Tuesday morning, where he was officially charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Jasmine Lovett, 25, and her 22-month-old daughter Aliyah Sanderson, according to Global News.

Leeming was arrested on Monday after Calgary police found what they believe to be the bodies of Lovett and Sanderson in a wooded area in Kananaskis Country near Grizzly Creek. The two had been missing since April 16. The bodies have been sent to the Chief Medical Officer for formal identification and an autopsy.

During a Monday news conference, Calgary Police believe Lovett and Sanderson were killed between April 16 and 17.
