Local players named to Peewee Prospects Cup roster

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Five local peewee hockey players have been named to a pair of teams at the 2019 Peewee Prospects Cup.

Defencemen Austin Watts and Julian Laqua, along with forwards Jesse Klimosko, and Samuel Hynes and goaltender Beck Boiteau have been named to the South Teams for the tournament.

Watts and Laqua will suit up for team South Black, while Klimosko, Hynes and Boiteau will play for team South Yellow.

A total of 160 players from across Alberta were selected for the event, which is held in the off-years of the Alberta Winter Games. The players were selected following regional camps held in Calgary, Edmonton, Olds and Vegreville from April 12-14, according to hockey Alberta.

The Peewee Prospects Cup runs from May 8-12 at the ATB Centre in Lethbridge.
