TORONTO, ON – For sisters Kelly and Eden Murray, just playing together on the same team has been a dream come true.

On Sunday, another dream was realized as the local pair captured the 2019 Clarkson Cup with the Calgary Inferno, beating Les Canadiennes Montreal by a 5-2 final.

Zoe Hickel had a pair of goals in the victory for Calgary, while Alex Rigsby stopped 25 of the 27 shots she faced to win the national women’s hockey championship.

It’s Calgary’s second Clarkson Cup and first since 2016, while it’s the first Canadian Women’s Hockey League title for the Murray sisters.

Kelly, in her second year as a blueliner with the Inferno, was held off the score sheet on Sunday but finished her season with two assists in 27 games from the back end.

As for Eden, who posted four points in 17 games over her rookie season in the CWHL, she was a scratch against the Canadiennes in the championship final.

Eden previously was a gold medal winner with Team Canada at the 2013 U18 World Junior Championships.
